Etsy Banner Design

I recently had the opportunity to design an Etsy Banner. Custom web banners are a fantastic way to promote your business in a unique & visual way.

For those of you not familiar with Etsy, it’s a web site which provides a forum for artists and crafts people to sell their wares. Here’s a link to the site: http://www.etsy.com/. There is a lot of very high quality, creative things for sale on Esty. I encourage everyone to at least take a look at it.

Anyway, I had the opportunity to design a banner for one of the crafts people-she’s a knitter actually. She makes really incredible hats, scarves, felted jewelry, purses, etc. Her site is named “marshaknits“. If you happen to be in the market for some very high quality, fun knitted things or felted jewelry, you should check it out.

After I sent a few design ideas her way, my client I worked together to create the background image in the banner design. We used a high resolution photo she had taken of one of her knitted projects and ran through several different color variations. We also used an image of a vintage Barbie doll which she has on her business card, so we could maintain her branding. After several rounds of designs and lots of great communications, we came up with a very cool banner which will really catch your eye. It only took 4 hours, not bad. My client is pleased, I am pleased.

I used Adobe PhotoShop CS4 software to create this Esty Banner.
