Knotty Knitters…Fundraising for Autism

I’m working on a fun & inspirational project for “Knotty Knitters for Autism”…a fundraising calendar. They’re a group of spirited female knitters in the Tacoma, Washington area. One of the members has twin grandchildren that are 7 years old and Autistic. Because of the high cost of specialized education, therapies and healthcare they’ve come up with a creative & fun way to help raise money for them and for others who struggle with Autism. The concept is that they wear only items they’ve knit and nothing else. The youngest model is 45. They’re going to have a little spot coming up in the Fall issue of Vogue Knitting that they’re very excited about. Their story has also gotten picked up by the Associated Press and they’ve been doing interviews on local newstations for radio & tv. Any publicity they receive will help them raise money for this important cause.
